About two years ago, I caught myself thinking: “Dammit. It’s all downhill from here.”

My skin, joints, strength, figure, even my mental sharpness felt as though they were declining. I wasn’t sure when I hit my “peak”, but I was certain I had now surpassed it!

We live in a culture where youth and beauty is overtly glorified, especially for women. It's easy for us to lose our entire sense of value and identity when we feel these "assets" are being stripped from us. Most of us don't really want to be 25 again, but we also still want to feel like ourselves.

And when the reflection in the mirror feels disconnected from the woman inside? We feel out of our skin.

That’s when I got to work.
